Fact-Checking Policy
PsyTheater Fact-Checking Policy — verification for psychology and mental health coverage
PsyTheater aims to publish accurate, source-based and transparent information about psychology, psychiatry and mental health.
This policy explains how facts, sources, claims, statistics and sensitive information are reviewed before publication and how concerns are handled after publication.
What we check
- Names, dates, locations, organizations and institutional details.
- Statistics, study descriptions, rankings, scores and comparisons.
- Quotes, paraphrases and source links.
- Claims about symptoms, diagnosis, therapy, medication, research, safety or treatment options.
- Images, charts, screenshots and visual context.
- Claims made by companies, officials, experts, clinicians, researchers or institutions.
Source verification
PsyTheater prefers official documents, public records, recognized research, academic or clinical sources, government or institutional guidance, direct statements, expert commentary and reputable secondary media only when used for context.
Pre-publication review
Before publication, content may go through source checking, editorial review, headline and summary review, link review, image or chart review and additional sensitive-claim review. The level of review depends on the risk and complexity of the article.
High-risk mental health topics
Articles involving diagnosis, treatment, medication, suicide, self-harm, trauma, abuse, children, severe symptoms, legal issues or major life decisions require added caution. PsyTheater does not provide personalized medical, legal, financial or therapeutic advice.
Expert review
PsyTheater may consult external specialists for sensitive or technical topics when appropriate. Expert input can improve context, but editorial responsibility remains with the publication.
AI and fact-checking
AI tools may help organize source material, identify possible inconsistencies or assist workflow. AI tools are not treated as authoritative sources, and factual claims must be checked against reliable sources.
After publication
Readers can report possible errors at [email protected]. A report should include the article URL, suspected error, reliable source or explanation, and contact details if follow-up is needed.
Accuracy is a continuing process. PsyTheater may update published content when new information becomes available or when clearer context improves reader understanding.
