About

About PsyTheater — editorial identity, psychology coverage and reader trust

PsyTheater is an independent digital media publication focused on psychology, psychiatry, mental health, emotional well-being, and evidence-based personal development for readers in the United States and beyond.

PsyTheater exists for readers who want clear, humane and clinically informed explanations of how the mind works, how mental health challenges are experienced, and how people can make more informed decisions about support, treatment and everyday psychological well-being.

Our work is editorial in nature. PsyTheater does not replace diagnosis, therapy, medical care or crisis support, and our articles should not be treated as personal medical advice.

What PsyTheater covers

Psychology and behavior

We explain emotions, cognition, stress, relationships, personality, motivation, self-esteem and behavioral patterns in plain language. Articles aim to connect psychological concepts with real situations without reducing complex issues to slogans.

Psychiatry and mental disorders

Coverage may include anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, attention, sleep, psychosomatic symptoms and other mental health topics. We avoid sensational descriptions and distinguish general education from clinical assessment.

Therapy and support

PsyTheater publishes explainers about therapy approaches, support options, communication with professionals and what readers may want to ask before choosing care. We do not promise outcomes or recommend one treatment path for every reader.

Guides, explainers and practical context

Many readers need a first step: vocabulary, context and questions to take to a qualified professional. Our guides are designed to make complex psychological material easier to understand while staying cautious about personal advice.

Who we serve

PsyTheater serves people looking for responsible mental health information, families trying to understand emotional and behavioral challenges, students and professionals interested in psychology, and readers who want better language for discussing distress, care and recovery.

The publication is written for a broad public audience, but its standards are shaped by the seriousness of health-related content. We aim to be accessible without being casual about evidence, symptoms, diagnosis, risk or treatment.

Our editorial approach

  • We prefer source-based explanations, recognized clinical concepts, public research, institutional guidance and expert context where appropriate.
  • We separate facts, analysis, interpretation and opinion.
  • We avoid fear-based framing, miracle claims, guaranteed results and unsupported self-diagnosis language.
  • We correct verified factual errors and update material when better information becomes available.
  • Advertising and sponsorship do not determine independent editorial conclusions.

Our history

PsyTheater.com was founded in 2015 as an independent online reference publication based in Moscow, dedicated to psychiatry, psychology, psychosomatic medicine, and mental health education. Between 2015 and 2026, the project developed a substantial body of structured, evidence-informed content covering key areas of psychological science, psychosomatic conditions, and approaches to diagnosing and treating both common and rare psychiatric disorders. The platform established itself as a reliable informational resource by prioritizing clinical accuracy, clear terminology, and medically grounded explanations intended for both professionals and a broader educated audience.

During its original editorial period, the publication operated with informational support from the residency team of the S. S. Korsakov Clinic of Psychiatry at Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, one of Russia’s leading academic medical institutions. This collaboration contributed to the scientific rigor of the materials and ensured alignment with established psychiatric research and clinical practice standards. Institutional reference (until 2025): S. S. Korsakov Clinic of Psychiatry, Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, 119021 Moscow, Rossolimo St. 11, Building 5, general information line +7 (495) 247-30-89.

In the beginning of 2026, PsyTheater.com entered a new phase of development as its editorial direction and professional oversight transitioned to American specialists with experience in mental health communication, psychological education, and evidence-based medical publishing. This shift marked the evolution of the project toward an international editorial framework, maintaining the depth and integrity of its existing knowledge base while expanding its standards in line with global best practices in medical accuracy, transparency, and editorial accountability.

Founded in 2015, PsyTheater began with a simple editorial belief: mental health publishing should be more trustworthy, more humane and more intellectually honest. Over time, the publication evolved from a niche psychology-focused editorial concept into a broader media platform for mental health, psychology and psychiatry coverage.

The mission remains consistent: publish mental health and psychology content that is grounded in evidence, written in plain language and shaped by real editorial responsibility.
